MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST IN TYLER, TX

Janna Moore

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Anxiety Therapist in Tyler, TX

My primary goal is to make therapy a safe space where you can come, free of judgment, to take a deep dive into whatever has been troubling you.

I welcome adults of all ages, identities, cultural backgrounds, and belief systems, and strive to honor your unique experiences and perspectives.

I believe that healing is possible, and exploring our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships can bring insight and relief from our problems. You can leave therapy feeling empowered and capable of handling what lies ahead.

As the founder of Grow Well Therapy, I am passionate about helping people work through their challenges and rediscover themselves so that they can reclaim control over their lives.

I come from years of experience working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds who are experiencing mental health crises, and have worked in the community, jail, and hospital settings. Having met so many people on the worst day of their lives and in their toughest moments inspired me to want to walk alongside individuals as they heal, gain insight into themselves, and get to the root of their problems.

My Approach

First and foremost, my goal is to meet you where you are at and come to a better understanding of your unique perspective and situation. I believe that a good therapeutic relationship is the necessary foundation for change. Then, I pull from various perspectives and utilize techniques from evidence-based therapies to tailor treatment to best fit you. I view therapy as a collaborative process, so we will regularly check in to ensure my approach is most helpful to you. Feel free to explore some of the core perspectives I use with my clients.

WALKING ALONGSIDE YOU.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the understanding that your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. The goal is to find ways to change unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that might be holding you back. In therapy, we work together to identify these patterns and come up with practical strategies to help you navigate your way to feeling better.

  • ACT is a therapy that helps you accept your thoughts, feelings, and life challenges, rather than fighting or avoiding them, which is often our natural response. By embracing acceptance, you can then take actions that align with your personal values. This mental flexibility helps you navigate challenges more effectively, moving you towards a life that feels more meaningful and fulfilling.

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a structured approach that helps the brain process and resolve distressing memories using eye movements and guided visualization. In therapy, I use ART to help clients replace painful images and emotions with more positive, adaptive ones, allowing for rapid relief from trauma, anxiety, and other challenges.

  • Person-Centered Therapy is based on the belief that we all have the capacity for growth and self-actualization and have the inherent resources for healing. I aim to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, so that you can gain insight and make positive changes in your life.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on teaching specific skills including mindfulness, which helps you stay grounded in the present moment, and emotion regulation, which teaches you how to identify and manage intense feelings. You'll also learn techniques for improving communication and resolving conflicts in your relationships. Whether you're struggling with overwhelming emotions, self-destructive behaviors, or difficulties in your relationships, DBT offers a roadmap to help you create positive changes in your life.

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a goal-oriented approach that empowers you to make positive changes in your life. Many of us fall into cycles of unhealthy habits or procrastination, or have been wanting to make a positive change in our lives but cannot find the motivation to take action. Together, we can explore ambivalence and barriers to change, and help strengthen your commitment to your goals.

  • Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPRST) focuses on stabilizing biological and social rhythms to help manage your mood, which then impacts your life experiences. This modality emphasizes that having regular routines, such as sleep, meals, and daily activities, can help establish a more predictable and stable lifestyle, which can contribute to better mood stability and overall well-being.
